This place is absolutely incredible! I've never seen anything like it. I just-- [ He took a breath, seeming to focus a bit more. ] I should probably introduce myself. That's what new people around here do, right? I guess it's kind of like the new kid standing up in class to say where they're from, which I always thought was kinda cruel. But it's a bit different here. I think.

Anyway, my name's Ian Gallagher. I'm from Chicago. And I'm a new warden on board! I can't wait to meet all the great folks around here.

Another one from California?! Wow. I really thought there'd be more people from other places. You know, like not from our world at all. When I was told I was coming to a prison in space I kinda figured there'd be, you know, aliens or something? But this is great, too!

There are a lot of us from Beacon Hills, actually. [She just doesn't know how the hell that happened.]

There are some people from different planets too, though. And we've been to other planets before.

Really!? What sort of planets?

We didn't go to any places with civilizations similar to Earth. One was-- underground. [Full of death, not really a place she likes talking about.]

And the other was more of a forest. And the people there were-- bear like creatures. They were adorable.

Whoa, could they talk?!

In their own language, yeah. But they communicated with us by pointing, mostly.

That's still so cool! Do you think we'll go anywhere like that soon? I'd love to see it!

It depends on the Admiral. I don't think we can request stops but-- sometimes smooth sailing is good, too.

I've been organizing parties and movie nights. And there's a lacrosse team if you're interested?

Lacrosse? That's the one with the weird sticks, right?

Yeah, they usually describe it as grass hockey. [Which isn't entirely accurate, but it's better than 'the one with the weird sticks'.]

The boys can teach you how to play if you don't know how.
